Today in math, we focused on how to convert fractions, such as one tenth (1 over 10) to a decimal, one and one tenth (0.1). We learned that if a fraction is over 100, then the decimal will go to the hundredth spot, such as 4 over 100 converting to 0.04 . Try practicing converting fractions that are over 10, 100, or 1000 to decimals (and vice versa) with your child at home!
We explored a "True or False Ancient Athens Democracy Game" this morning to solidify some of our understandings. The students have now begun an ancient Athens newspaper project that we are hoping to complete in time for our Student-Led Conferences next week! Today was day 1 (of 4 days) of our In-Line Skating experience! Ask your child what they learned in terms of rollerblading safety. Hopefully we will see an increase in safety and confidence over the week! Reminders: - In-Line Rollerblading continues until Thursday (make sure your child has knee-high socks on preferably, and extra lunch as their phys. ed. time is doubled) - Student-Led Conferences March 18th + 19th (more info to come)
