Thank you to Tenzin for sharing his holiday celebration project on Diwali this morning! He created a PowerPoint at home, and he also read the class a story on Diwali! Have you child explain 5 facts to you about Diwali that they learned.
We are preparing for our upcoming graphing (data management) unit test in math. See if your child requires any extra support at home (they are to be able to take data and put it into a bar graph, double bar graph, broken-line graph, and/or continuous line graph). An optional practice graphing sheet will be available to any students that would like extra practice for home. In language arts, we focused on exploring syllables. Did you know there must be at least one vowel in every grouped off section? Ex. en/cy/clo/pe/dia. Students are using this knowledge to help them with the spelling of words. Try a few at home with your child! Please also review homophones, antonyms, and synonyms; moreover, we learned about those last week, and we are continuing to review them as a class as we build upon our repertoire of literacy knowledge! We began planning out our art plans for our pumpkins art this afternoon. Please see our school's twitter post via @rosscarrock for pictures and details on how we received enough pumpkin donations from Save on Foods for every child in the school! Many students have some components which involve carving and painting. Please send your child to school in clothes that are okay to get dirty over the next 2 days as we work on these. If possible, I also requested for students to bring in 1-3 garbage bags to help with all the mess/pumpkin insides. Thank you!
