Has your child told you that we completed our first of two JumpMath workbooks? Students brought these home yesterday. There are some non-Alberta required pages still remaining if you would like further practice for your child to do at home (perhaps a good idea for keeping them busy over Spring Break). We will begin our second JumpMath book on Monday!
In Social Studies, we furthered our understandings of the "Pillars for Democracy," focusing on comparing and contrasting current Canadian democracy to that of ancient Athens practices of democracy. Ask your child to share 3 facts that they learned with you! The class has been working very diligently and mindfully towards being kind leaders within the school and classroom. I am proud to announce that our classroom kindness jar has been filled, and I am rewarding the class with a movie and popcorn party tomorrow as a prize! They are allowed to (and encouraged) wear pajamas and bring a stuffy as well. We did a class vote to choose a curriculum-related movie. Important: We had a guest speaker come to tell us all about the grade 7 options today. Your child is coming home with a red Vincent Massey Options form. Please review your child's option choices, sign the form on the back, and return it back to school by Wednesday, March 11th! If the form does not get returned, the admin at Vincent Massey randomly selects grade 7 options for your child. If your child is not planning on attending Vincent Massey next year, please indicate so on the form.
