We worked on reviewing some of the sky science material that we explored before the break - see if your child had write out the 6 main layers of the sun (core, radiation zone, convection zone, photosphere, chromosphere, and corona) and the 8 phases of the moon (new moon, waxing crescent, 1st quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, 3rd quarter, and waxing crescent).
We explored classifying triangles by their largest angle (acute-angled, obtuse-angled, or right-angled) as well as by the length of the sides (equilateral, isosceles, and scalene. Have your child draw you examples of each! Next week we will explore classifying quadrilaterals. Now that students have completed the task of writing about winter from the perspective of a snowman, they are now working on creating a watercolour painting to go along with their writing. We will continue with this on Monday! Reminders: Swimming forms are past due! If your child has not returned theirs, please do so by Monday!
