We practiced making reflex angles this morning! See if your child can explain how to create a reflex angle of 260 degrees. Since protractors only measure up to 180 degrees, they will have to strategize. A complete circle is 360 degrees, so by subtracting the wanted measurement from 360, they are able to use their protractor to successfully make a reflex angle.
Most students completed their "Writing about winter from the perspective of a Snowman" task today! Ask your child how they did with attending to the checklist. We will be working on creating a published draft of their work in the new year. Please don't forget to support your child with their moon recording/diary homework! They should be able to see the "Third Quarter" phase as of today! This recording/diary sheet is to come back completed when we return in January please! There will be a annular eclipse on December 26th! The students have been working hard to find answers to the following questions within our sky science unit. Please ask your child about the questions, and see if they need further support with understanding some of the concepts:
Reminders: - Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day of school before winter break! - Tomorrow is pajama & stuffy day, and the students will get to watch a movie with popcorn in the afternoon (see previous post for further information) - Report Cards will be sent home in sealed envelopes tomorrow! I told the students to wait until they are home to open their report cards so that they can celebrate their successes with family (signed envelopes are to be returned to the school when we return in January please).
